Jane & Kadie have been asked to perform at various restaurants in worthing
watch this space for the latest venue.

In 2004 Sue and her family went on holiday to Egypt, and came back with some beautiful costumes. Jane having danced for many years before said "you can't have all these costumes and never learn to do this dance" So Sue begun to look for classes locally. One day while Sue was at a festival she saw a card advertizing belly dance classes in worthing. That week dressed in jeans and trainers they all went along to their first ever belly dance class with Katie Holland.

They loved every minute of it and were hooked straight away. throughout 2005 & 2006 Katie was performing at events that Jane went along to, to support Katie. katie also organized a dance festival called Bodies & Beats which Jane & Emma performed at with Katies beginners class. As time went on all 3 of them got the chance to perform with Katie and her class gaining more and more experience and attending many of the workshops katie organized.

Then at the start of 2007 Katie left to spend a few months in Goa, during this time away Jane was aproached by someone asking if she could teach 2 men one of her dances and perform it with them at a basketball game for charity. Jane taught Dave and Marcell and invited Sue and Emma to come and learn the dance too and perform it with her. The press were interested in what they were doing and so All 3 dancers decided it was time to get a stage name.

Many strange and obsure names where trown into the pot, but one name stuck out, more for it's meaning than anything else. Nefertiri was beautiful and strong and independant. Nefertiri was determined and yet at the same time was beautiful and confident to be herself. This was perfect and so the 3 of them formed Nefertiri dancers.
following on from their first performance they were askled to perform at Johnsons bra shop for breast cancer awarness, the floating fish cabaret club and also for East Worthing Festival where Jane called on the help of a few other dancers from Katies original class.

During August of 2007 Katie returnd to england and announced that she would be returning to Goa permanatly. Katie decided to run a special week long intensive training course which Jane attened. During Katies time away Jane had been asked by many of her friends to show them how to belly dance, so with extra help and support from Katie and lots of encourangement from Sue, Jane decided to start her own fun fitness belly dance classes. By this time Emma was just starting Univercity and Jane had also bought into the Nefertiri Troupe Karen, Marina and Susan. So in September of that year Jane started her first ever class. The classes soon grew in popularity and it wasn't long before Jane had to start offering a 2nd class and a 3rd.

Nefertiri started out as 3 passionate belly dancers taking every oppotunity to dance that came their way. now it is a dance company that runs a full programe of classes for adults, teens and kids, host workshops, founded Art in motion Dance Festival and performs at over 20 events in and around worthing every year for charities, schools, town centre initiative, worthing borough council and cabarets. There are around 17 regular dancers who perform with Nefertiri. Jane also has a teenagers dance troupe called Neferteens and a semi professional dance troupe called Nefertiri Gems. Emma is one of the teachers but has now left to live in southampton with her partner and will be setting up a Franchise of Nefertiri their in time and Jane is also training one of her students Kadie to be a teacher with Nefertiri
